By its own account, a Missionary Baptist Church was established in 1878 in the village of Charlotte known as Biddleville. The church says the congregation relocated to 3201 Tuckaseegee Road on 3 April 1977. By its own account, Mount Carmel moved into a new campus in August 2005.
