Martin Street Baptist Church

By its own account, a group of Baptist men and women organized a “Baptist Interest Group” in 1869. The church says it purchased land in 1909 and began construction of a building in 1910. The church says the first worship service was held in the new church building on 10 May 1919. The church says the current sanctuary was remodeled in 1965. The church says it added a multipurpose building in 1977 and a Family Life Center in 2007.
