First Waughtown Baptist Church

The church says a second lot on Waughtown Street was purchased in 1907. By its own account, Waughtown Baptist Church opened its doors at a new location in 1913. The church says the congregation voted to change its name to First Waughtown Baptist Church in April of 1989. By its own account, the church obtained non-profit status as a corporation in September of 1993 and built the D. W. Bishop Full Life Center.
