First Baptist Church

By its own account, First Baptist Church Washington was received into the Kehukee Association in 1822. The church says that under the leadership of Reverend R. L. Gay from 1913 to 1915, a movement began to erect a new church building in a more suitable location. By its own account, the 1917 building was dedicated on 5 December 1937. The church says an educational building joined to the north side of the 1917 building was occupied on 13 May 1956.
